What a gorgeous Basset puppy. Don't worry, there may be some hissing, spitting, and probably a few "yipes" when the pup gets too close, but in time they will get used to one another. My buppy is a little over a year and he still annoys the cat but they tolerate each other and even lay next to one another napping. Just give it time and don't try to force anything.

Stop havbing a go at her. Introducing a dog and cat is a hard, tiring, long process until they 'bare' eachother - it's never gonna be as simple as putting them near eachother and they fall in love and clean eachother all day and night. The dog will bark and annoy the cat trying to play, the cat will hiss at the dog and tell him off - animals have to make their own hierarchy. you can't do ti for them.

I don't blame the dog one bit.....that cat could do some damage. You should not make the dog go up to that cat. I think that is mean for both involved. They will meet up on their own time and their own way.

He's got one high pitched bark for a basset! My basset's voice is deep and bellowing, even after we snipped him. XD
