My my doesn't that sound high and mighty. I wish you people would do a little research before you spout statistics. It's really very unbecoming and frankly it puts people off Christianity altogether to hear you guys say such ridiculous and unproven stuff like this.

you have a fine point there. I'm almost ashamed of saying that I am christian because of all the judgement that we have showed to people, instead of simply just making a positive impact on the world. The church has made activism look like a bad thing, but what was Jesus? A revolutionary! He made the religious leaders mad! The church has become hypocritical and chronically tight-fisted. But anyway love this song. Peace.

Kinda missed the point. Browne is pointing out the hypocrisy in churches and the season and those who would wave a crucifix while blindly ignoring the message of the man. By loading this with holiday imagery and ignoring the entire section about turning religion into a robbers den, you kinda made his point.

maybe YOU missed the point...Did you watch the whole thing? We give to "our own relations", but do we really care for the needy...Jesus paid the ultimate price for me, and do I just once a year drop a few coins in the bucket when I come out of Wal-mart? We Christians need to keep ourselves in check, and check inwardly more than probably any other faith...I really appreciate your comment...I feel like your intentions are right...God bless...

Wonderful song, and great presentation...for a pagan and infidel. Just kicking. Remember what Ishmael said in Moby Dick--better to sleep with a sober pagan than a drunken christian. Jesus is a major character in the Koran [I'm not Muslim], and is a definite rebel there.

yes...It's a shame that Jackson Browne probably knows nothing about the redemption that is available to him...

Don't be so smug. You know nothing of Jackson Browns knowledge of redemption. Wont you people ever learn. Forget about redemption. There is no such thing. Seeking redemption is a selfish waste of time. Stop being preoccupied with yourselves, get off your knees and do something positive for the people of this world.
