Thank. You. Music. Appreciation!! This is freakin' cool!

@TheJohannser Nice idea, but that's not the case- the screws merely rest between the strings, they do not penetrate the soundboard. Not even Cage was bold enough to suggest ruining his patron's nice Steinway for the sake of his music.

Well, this is interesting! I am listening to this for my college level music appreciation class. The prepared piano was definitely new to me!

Ya he can play it again. It is composed music. It might sound differnt if not prepared right but it still the same peice.
-
LOL Like Crash Bandicoot! xD

You carefully separate the two strings and insert the screw. The screw does not touch anything except the strings. I did it very carefully and did not damage my piano at all. No need for quid expenditure.

Brilliant.

Poor piano. At least the music survived! :P

That sounds kind of weird and creepy, it's awesome :D

ahh, so you have to screw in the screws into the sounding board of the piano?! So the performance of this piece costs you between 20 and 100000 quid cus you can buy a new grand piano afterwards…
This is the best prepared piano piece ever.
