Typically how well do raccoons settle down in captivity? They seem like they would make great pets since they're curios and fairly intelligent.

Why can't you people just get a cat or a dog instead of forcing a wild animal to live inside?

You contact your local wildlife division, and see if your state allows them as pets. If so, then you ask them to provide you with a list of raccoon propagators (breeders). Babies are born from March-June. It's best to get them 2-3 weeks of age and bottle feed them. Also please be sure to locate a vet that will treat a raccoon before you get one. If you bottle feed, DO NOT feed them cow's milk. Use goats milk. They make wonderful pets if treated right and uncaged when they're little

picking up animal shit at a zoo doesn't make you a zoologist

Yes, infact, i am
He is really frustrated he wants to go outside. The noise he is making is a irated. I have raised three. The last one I bottle fed for 6 weeks before it opened its eyes. You have a really aclimated fellow. They love the outdoors and are way happy digging in the grass and playing along waters edge. Mine lived free as they were old enough, and always came when I called them. Eventually they return to the wild, but every once in awhile they stopped to say hi which is very cool. Good luck!
