@kingdomofdalriada Yes they are.. more than 60% of all Canadians have decended from Scottish and English, as well as French ancestry. The other 40%, well... They're immigrants and Southern African American.

I think you'll find that the Scottish were the second largest group of immigrants to settle in Canada. The French were the largest.
The Scottish culture is HUGE in Canada. You will find that every Province has a Highland Games and celebrates St. Andrew's Day as well as Tartan Day and Burns Night.
Most Canadian military regiments are named after Scottish regiments. For example, the Black Watch and the 48th Highlanders.
