  • I should get these when my top of the line 2009 specialized shoes wear out, hows the sidi fit system compared to BOA?

  • @finnrambo1 compared to the BOA, the three-buckle system offers better micro adjustment across the zones of your foot. Having the ability to tweak each buckle a little bit here and there can make all the difference when it comes to shoe comfort

  • Sidi makes great shoes however let's make one thing clear: Pros will wear just about any brand as long as they get paid the right amount. So this should NOT be a quality indicative while reviewing a cycling shoe.

That being said, I would recommend Ergo Due, they are top of the line.

  • Actually they aren't, The Sidi Ergo Carbon 1's are compatible if you buy the Adaptor plates (which I have done) the problem is after you bolt the Adaptor plates (same thinkness as a 'LOOK' Cleat) to the shoe and then add the SPD it adds approximately 8mm extra in height which means you need to put your saddle up. The Sid Ergo 2's are NOT compatible with SPD's as the Carbon Sole is moulded, on the Ergo 1's the Carbon sole is removable.

  • @easye1973 You completely missed my point didn't you? Please go back and try to understand the purpose of my comment...

  • @competitivecyclist sweet, got maybe 8 months left on my specialized, are the bg fit soles compatible by any chance?

  • I work in a very popular cycle store in London, UK. Will be taking what you've discussed, with me to educate other's. Thanks!

  • @nipponhouseplayer I "inherited" the Sidis of my father when I began to ride his Pinarello. Luckily, his shoes always fit me. The Sidis are very comfortable and fit like a glove. They still are very good shoes, although seemingly more than ten years old. But they do their job perfectly. I am not after any gramm of weight or everythiong carbon, I just want to enjoy my rides. The Sidi shoes are perfect. More than enough for me. It's very easy to be a loyal SIDI customer.

  • one more thing. after i broke the shimanos i kept the nylon "shimano cycling footwear" drawstring backpack that came with them for storing shoes - i put my Sidis in it. well one day as i was putting it down the cord came out of it and the bag with my Sidis fell on the ground making a loud "click" noise. My heart almost stopped as i thought i cracked them - but they were fine. This made me hate the fucking shimano even more. it's SHIT.

  • i tried pretty high end shimanos and they were crap. not only was i getting hot spots within minutes of riding but i actually BROKE the shoe on second day of use ( the carbon sole snapped when i stepped down too hard on the pavement ) which wasn't nice since it was a $250 shoe. now i use SIDI in the same price range and i like them a lot better. my favorite shoe of all time is Nike Air Max 2010 running - too bad you can't clip it in :)

  • My Sidi shoes are a 1982 series, I averaged 535 miles a week back in the day. Now Im 44yrs old and July 28 th 2010 Im still using the shoes. They are 100% Solid I will post a Vid of them ,Thankyou SIDI

  • @kcubukcu Good point, it should also be known that most pros that wear Sidi shoes actually have them custom made for their feet. Fit is the most important thing when choosing cycling shoes, not wearing what the pros wear.
