The album this is from is one of the true pinnacles of what we used to call Space Music. Call it ambient or electronica or even new age, it's timeless, beautiful, cosmic and in the end totally human. It's interesting to note that, though "New Age" is in the title, this album came out before the term was ever used as a marketing label.

I had the pleasure of seeing him perform in Manchester in 1975 doing his improvised electronic guitar music, it got me into electronic music.

If you look up "far out" in the dictionary it says: " See Deep distance, by Ash ra Tempel".

I had a dream when i was 4 years old. It was the spaciest thing i have ever experienced. Afterwards i couldnt explain to anyone what it felt like. This song perfectly encapsulates the feeling...

Serene !
First heard this & the NAoE album on a walkman just after sunrise on a summer morning back in the early 90's while walking through the countryside enjoying psychedlic refreshment of the blotter kind. It completely enhanced the 'trip' and although my days of 'refreshment' are long gone, it's an ever-present fixture on the ipod. Every time I hear it takes me back to that morning and soothes the soul, always helps puts things into perspective.
