Another interesting thing about the show is they manipulate your perceptions of the good and bad guys. I think they're all just doing what they think is right.
I mean in Hilter's mind he thought he was doing the right thing...wait that may not be a good example.

I had to think about this during lunch, but as far as Charlie, for example, being alive and dead at the same instant. Think Schrödinger's cat...quantum mechanics. Remember the island itself is not bound by time as we normaly perceive it, Faraday's rocket experiment proved that there is an anomoly...gosh I could go on and on. The writers sure read a lot...Lost is nothing but a bunch of ideas, concepts, theories, plots, story lines, etc. taken from books and strung together to make a...tv show.
