  • can someone tell me if the size of your hand matters.

  • I'm sure it does, you can't produce correct bols until you are eight or nine. Perhaps that's why Rohan started learning from Zakir when he turned eight.

  • how old is that kid

  • He was ten or eleven when this video was shot.

  • how old is he now 2007

  • He's seventeen now.

  • is Ustad Zakir hussain sahib ji on the left?

  • Zakir always says he a student 1st before an ustad

  • zakir has not only talent but humility and sensitivity, you can be moved by his playing, this id is extremely talented but there is always things to learn...

  • Is it possible if you could get his guru purnima videos from Mumbai? I know that's a big effort but I heard that was amazing.

  • sir i am sorry to say but thats not actually.. there are many tabla players who started there initial training at very small age...

  • not much . its your practise that makes difference.. but you need a good teacher ..

  • this is realy amazing stuff. feels great to find a young person learning tabla. im a tabla player as well. ben learning around 2 years and back in india, when you tell people that your learning tabla, they go like "tabla kyon seekhra hai? kuch guitar vitar seekhle". keep it up man.

  • actually, i think my hands are too big. I can play clearly but not when I play fast.
