    This is brilliant.

Sure, some people may think that it portrays a certain negative "idea of women," but it is meant to be funny!

It's funny because we all know girls like this.

    They do exist.

    Get over it.

Smart video- and funny! As a "roommate's girlfriend," and a feminist I'm not at all offended.

My email tells me you reply, so I read. Then I laugh.

No, I am not being forced to watch this, just as you are not being forced to read my comments. We are in the same happy boat of voluntarily wishing to express our disagreement with someone else's words which we find offensive! I'm so glad that we're actually on the same side of this issue!

You are the one getting bent out of shape over something that isn't a big deal. I think it's funny. I've met people who are annoying like this. It is funny. You are choosing to be offended by a parody of the Allstate "Mayhem" ads that are made that way on purpose. Again I cite the use of extremes as a way of communicating the point the advertisers are making. You need to take a chill pill. No one is making you watch this. Make a better video and then we'll listen to your high-pitched GF voice ;)

Yes, it got my attention. In a bad way. Do you really mean that we shouldn't require advertisers (let alone religiously-affiliated higher-education providers) to think twice about the kind of message they are sending, because it's easier for them to perpetuate extreme stereotypes than it is for them to come up with new, clever, nuanced, and inoffensive ways of attracting attention?

The HBLL has proved that it is capable of being funny without being offensive. Why did they drop the ball here?

Every commercial for anything out there is going to emphasize their point by using extremes. They don't want to suggest that in the average day the average person will do relatively fine without the thing they offer. If advertisers made a politically correct and entirely unoffensive "perfect" commercial that didn't get anyone's attention abruptly then we'd be looking at a sterile screen with very little emotional direction on the topic. The fact this got your attention is what is most important.
