  • I had to do this once before, but it worked better this time. I didn't scratch up the plastic as bad getting the ring off. The plastic ring is hard to take off

@wfbnadador: You are wrong, taking Apple's advice & rubbing the trackball on a damp cloth only works temporarily, but it doesn't get the lint & dirt OUT. You have to do this once in a while, and it's MUCH MUCH better after you do.

@ j0egas: Do you know if the plastic ring is easier taking it off next time, after using super glue?

  • @JackRyan327 Yes actually every time you do it it gets more and more loose. For this reason i just invested in a magic mouse and theres no problem what so ever!

  • this is terrible advice. simply cleaning the ball fixes the problem just fine, this procedure will break off the bottom ring REQUIRING super glue.

I would not recommend anyone follow this kids advice.

  • Yes, but for some people, it gets so cloged up, and rubbing a stupid pieces of paper across the track ball dosnt to shit. so your wrong

  • thanks :D rated 5 and faved

  • No problem! is yours broken?

  • I broke my mouse u fucker lololol

  • Buh' en, Buh' en....right? You guys...Right? Ov'a hea...right? on the buh'en.

Just get to the part where you fix it, already.

  • Actually to get the plastic ring off you may need a sharp xacto to break the welds, then the ring pops off, that's why the krazy glue is needed, because the ring doesn't snap back and stay on.

  • Nice step by step, my mouse works perfect now.

  • TRY THIS FIRST

    see "clean mouse 5 seconds"

    here on youtube

  • Thumbs up if you just destroyed your mouse..

  • I am a senior gal. I first watched the vid by murrayhay, but he didn't say anything about the little wheels. I knew it was for something, 'cause they all fell out and I couldn't figure out where from. So I went to this vid and she solved the problem. This gal doesn't show how to release the bar to take out and re-insert the ribbon. Murray solved that one. No one shows how to position the cord. But this was an excellent vid nevertheless. Thanks so much.

  • why be a dick to this kid? I think its impress who took this piece of technology apart and could fix it. I did this myself as well before I seen this video and it was a real pain in the ass putting those little magnets back in place, I had to use tweezers. And i put all of them in backwards the first time because I didnt notice the metal prongs the are supposed to sit next to. had to do it all over again! But it works perfect now. Thanks for the vid kid, wish i woulda seen it before i did my fix

  • It worked, the only problem is now I have to click harder :S
