You might had mess up on the fighting. If she said I am powerful or you'll need to break my concentration or It may be in a blink of an eye, but that's your only chance, she will be countering or attacking so I would suggest to counter or wait till she attacks you with smash. I was only lucky on the dungeon rooms I never did got a single room with bears but with jackals.
