  • George Clinton is the most sampled artist today!..check it out!!

  • George Though is the Godfather of funk not James Brown, he contributed but does not get that title. George Deserves it more and he has done alot for the music industry funk wise than anyone else, anyone.....................

Keep That Funk Going Mr. Godfather of funk George Clinton

  • Right, No doubt.

Is like Rock N Roll what was invented by R&B black artist but Elvis make it a worldwide phenomenom.

  • Well, is knowed the Brown's 'big Ego', by called himself "The Godfather Of Soul" he was despite the contrib. to the Birth of Soul from SAM COOKE, and specially RAY CHARLES ("I Got A Woman" 1954)

The True ROOT OF FUNK CAME FROM NEW ORLEANS R&B (See 'HOMEOFTHEGROOVE.BLOGSPOT dotCOM).

All critics say "COLD SWEAT" WAS THE 1ST TRUE FUNK RECORD.

  • well not realy James Brown "funk" was more soul than anything he tiped the ice burg and George and the boys completely destroyed it!

James Brown - Godfather of Soul

George Clinton - Godfather of Funk

  • wujek George wyladowal kiedys w polsce. wybawil narod od panas nosem. Najlepszy!!!

  • True, but George further refined Funk...Funk isn't invented, it's a force that changes with the human race

  • funkberto is correct! We still love George Clinton, though!

  • "she'll lap dance on your laptop with laptop on yo lap." LOL!!!!

  • Great, but the error is calling to george the "father of funk" if the funky music has invented by JAMES BROWN 3 YEARS BEFORE THE FUNKADELIC.
