This video shows you how to modify the retaining clips on a Halo pot light so it will install properly in a thicker than normal ceiling. All you need is your lineman's pliers and strong fingers.

I do a lot of old home renovations, so I frequently encounter lathe and plaster ceilings that are covered in drywall. In order to install the Halo pot lights, the retaining clips have to be shortened. This video shows you how to do that.

So glad that worked for you. The YouTube community has come to my rescue so many times on a whole range of DIY projects, it's nice to know I was able to return the favour :)

  • This is exactly the tip I needed for my lath and plaster ceiling. You just saved me hours of head ache. Thanks!
