Portland Police Under Bridge 1 9 09

I went to see if the homeless people under the Burnside Bridge in Portland Oregon were getting hassled for being "homeless" I seen a man getting arrested so I started filming from 50 yards away. As I filmed one officer in a car started shining his spot light to block me from filming. What I don't like is I just won a tort claim against the city police for taking my camera and for ticketing me for "filming them" ... I won my case ... I can film I also won 100 bucks ... a small fee that I attached to say I want policy change not money. One month latter the police are trying to block me again. I don't like this nor think it is appropriate. In good faith I didn't sue them for big dollars ...and yet they still play their "cover up games" ...what Are the Portland Police trying to Hide ...this was filmed on 1.9.09. I was informed by people under the bridge that the police would be back tomorrow 1.10.09 to "sweep the homeless" from under the bridge... See you there ~joe anybody

So I take a few steps to the left & step out of the line of sight from their light. Thus you say it "wasnt working" - what me stepping out of their line of sight? or me being able to continue filming them? I had just been through a court related issue with the cops taking my camera for filming them, 4 them2 start shining their lights to block my camera was "irritating" for lack of better words

Thank you Portland police for cleaning up our city. I get yelled at daily when I walk to work along the waterfront by bums sleeping on the benches and shitting in the doorways downtown. We get stuck with every other city's trash and we put up with it like no other city would

@york2600 can you imagine sleeping outside in this weather?.... ya! .... can you imagine having to use the restroom and there is "NO WHERE" to go? .... Using the police to hassle or arrest homeless people is not the answer. Looking for solutions seems more positive an productive. Having people "yell at you isn't nice I agree. ?daily? everyone should be respectful. Thank you Portland police to the ones that show respect for the homeless (and people who are filming the police). Amen

@zebra334 Oh, I'm a very nice person who actually cares about others. You are one of those who think you are better than others because you favor robbing people and trashing their neighborhoods to make them live as you see fit. There's a reason garbage cans have lids. When you feed vermin, you get more vermin, and eventually all you have is vermin. You help bums by making them take responsibility or themselves, not by letting them litter and drive down property values and breed more bums.
