This was done in 1981 but the music sounds like he was stuck in 1968. Music aside, the world would have been much better off had he remained in Leavenworth to serve out his full sentence. Federal parole was abolished in 1984. Nowadays if you get a federal sentence, you do mostly all of it, with only the possibility of getting a couple of days per month off your sentence for good behavior. That is, had the current system existed in 1977, Garrido would still be in Leavenworth until at least 2023.
