OMAC and the Rosie Kay Dance Company invite you to The Wild Party -- a party where anything can happen and more is spilt on the carpet than red wine...
www.oldmuseumartscentre.org - Tue 30th October - Sat 3rd Nov
Watch as the events of a wild Prohibition-era Manhattan party unfold complete with all the Gatsby-esque decadence that you'd expect; sex, jealously, contempt, comedy, drunken sprawls, brawls and clinches -- with musical accompaniment from the brilliant live jazz band onstage.
Based on the jazz poem of the same name by Joseph Moncure March, this show captures all the energy, the debauchery and the sleaze of the golden age, creating a robust, darkly comic piece of physical theatre.
It's the Great Gatsby meets a Clockwork Orange. The Wild Party promises to be one night out that you'll remember in the morning.
Contains scenes of a sexual nature.
Visit www.oldmuseumartscentre.org for further details.
"this is wonderfully witty, sardonic theatre and Kay's most brilliant work to date.."
* * * * * Ellie Carr SUNDAY HERALD
"Thank Heavens then for the Rosie Kay Dance Company. Kay has more spirit than a distillery. The Wild Party has a dangerous feeling that anything could happen."
* * * * Kelly Apter THE SCOTSMAN
"There is comedy and deep sadness, moments of high excitement, sexual tension and despair... What more can one ask of a piece of theatre? Superb!"
