@harwetopa Show me a woman like that these days, and I'll show you a man like that to match.

Their love breaks my heart. They loved each other so much, but were doomed to be separated for years on end. And through all that they remained true to each other and as in love with each other as when they first met. There are no modern romances that can compare to theirs.

@harwetopa Honestly, I'd just like a man who can fiddle. ;)

I love 1776. To this day, I end all my emails by saying "P.S. Pins! Abigail!"
-
@lamedude1245 she said "And you, John?"

Glad to know John had good taste in Women (I'm one of those New England Girls ;))

One of the loveliest scenes in "1776." Even the beginning of this letter, where John compares the southern women besides the more robust "New England girls," is breathtaking. It is immensely clever to show their relationship literally through the text of their (very passionate and moving) letters. Kudos to the lovely (and little-known, outside of B'way) Virginia Vestoff.
'Saltpeter, John!!'

It's true: their letters revealed how much, how deeply they loved each other....
...Now why can't I find a man like that?
