everytime i hear about chicagoland tornadoes im always reminded of those 3 dumb black ladies who where interviewed in Chicago's downtown streets on TWC's 'It Could Happen Tommorow: Chicago Twister' where all saying the most stupid statement ever: 'Tornadoes dont happen here in Chicago they only happen Kansas and Missouri' PPPTH!!!!! What is their I.Q. for heaven's sake? less than 20?! The cameraman that interviewed them should have humilated and laughed at their stupidity when they said that!

@peopleRcrazy6 oh i've been to springfiled :3 school trip xD it was awesome there it for a lincoln thingy x3 i got yelled at for touching everything LOL
Just trying to learn some stuff about thunderstorms and tornados. Which part is the "hook"? Is it actually the hook shape of the funnel cloud coming down or is it the hook-like shape of the actual thunder cell (anvil) cloud?
Thanks for any info. Awesome video and thanks for pointing out the different types of clouds and things.

@Elysium3006 - The hook echo is actually rain and hail being wrapped around the backside of the mesocyclone. It doesn't always mean a tornado is present but instead signifies the storm has storm has strong rotation.
