The Easter Vigil readings present not only the truth of Salvation History, but the truth that ONLY the Catholic Church can authentically interpret Sacred Scriptures. Protestantism has no business in this arena.

  • Possibly one of the most useful Vortex episodes I've seen. I'll certainly be referring back to this next time I debate with my Protestant friends.

Question: You mention 40,000 Protestant denominations. I used that figure one time in a debate and was dismissed because I couldn't prove the number. They said there were only about 20. I believe my point still stands even with 20 denominations, but is there a place I can point them to which shows a list of those 40,000 denominations? Thanks!

  • @mdlagreca Oxford World Christian Encyclopedia - Google "number of Protestant denominations". There is a great article on a website called "phillvaz"

  • This Evangelical Protestant kid keeps telling me that the Church used to kill people for reading the Bible and calling them "heretics"...

    Then again, he's a protestant..

Another Protestant (same denomination) told me God Himself wrote the Bible... hehehe

  • @ChrisDaron When you're done laughing, make sure you tell him the truth and educate him. It's not funny and it's not fair if don't share the truth we have.

  • umm err the Roman Catholic Church did not put the Bible together. The Undivided Church of Christ put the Bible as in(i .e. Latin Catholic, Orthodox Catholic,Coptic Catholic). St. Athanasius of Alexandria letter in the year 367 which was the first known listing of the New Testament including all those books now accepted everywhere as the New Testament....The RCC as in todays church was not the sole who created the Bible...I am not including the Prost. who are not Catholic

  • @jkranites Of course the Catholic Church put the Bible together; because the Roman Catholic Church was the only Church then. The Church was unified and undivided then, and was unified and undivided under the pope, the bishop of Rome. The fact others fragmented off the body of Christ and became the Orthodox and the Coptics etc. doesn't change the fact the Roman Church was and is the original Church of Christ

  • Good clarification at the end about the intention being to assist others in finding the Truth.

  • Great Video, Michael.

I do believe the quotation is "The proof of the pudding is in the eating". Which may even be more a propos to what you are saying!

    Christ is Risen!

  • @jkranites I'd hate to burst your bubble (please excuse my crassness), but the Church founded by Christ was actually called the Catholic Church by the disciples to the Apostles; that is, by the men ordained as priests and bishops by the Apostles. It's simply an historical fact and it's all in primary source documents.

  • Evangelical Reformed 'theologian' James Robert White should watch your videos Micheal!

  • Great Vortex episode.

  • I am surprised by the number of Christians that do not realize that the catholic church basically compelled and edited the books of the bible.
