@wsoxman How about a tax cut for the rich? Not like giving a drunk another drink to sober him up?

How about this: All income above $5 million/year is taxed an additional 5%, which goes directly to pay off our debt. The money is not allowed to be used for any other purpose.

That's a simple in-out way, would that be an acceptable way to sober the drunk up?

Btw, the reason the govt is mismanaged is because of corruption, not because govt categorically can do no good.

Can any liberal Democrat please tell us all how the Federal Government has any control over local public schools? Local schools in my corrupt state of Illinois, get 92% of their funding from local property taxes. The State is 4-6% and the Fed is maybe 1-2%.

So all this Crap from Obama about education is just that Crap. Close down the Fed Dept of Education.

@stephaniejane81 Great points on taxes. The liberals want to hand this mismanaged government more tax dollars to waste. If I were a rich guy Id say "I will give the government $2 for every $1 they cut. Obama is using smoke and mirrors with his lies on cuts.

@wsoxman exactly. I'm so tired of people comparing income tax to capital gains tax. We all pay the same amount on capital gains--15%. And Romney wants to make it so that those making under $200,000 a year will pay 0% tax on capital gains. You want to see the economy take a bigger dive? make the capital gains tax 30% and watch people invest less. and to liberals, the government is their charity. Conservatives like to help people by giving to the charities of their choice.
