Actually,I loved the show,& wish it were still running.It was arguably one of the best things on TV.Still,it was as real as Star Trek,but I liked it anyway.It just goes to show how a good writer can take a very small subject and twist it into something very interesting and entraining.Frankly,I think Deadwood was just too good for it's time.Too advanced.Where else did anyone ever see characters who talked like these people?Like the Renascence,it came and went; & it's own genius couldn't save it.

This is the result of trying to mix 21 century morals with the fantasy of what was believed to be 18th century culture,when you don't know enough about either, while continuing to twist both together infinitely without guidance,direction or interference.The public,already predisposed to self regulate responses of deferential idealism in acceptance of an obvious fantasy intertwined in fiction that never was remotely associated with the realities of the truth that once was the real Deadwood.
