HER ADELE IS SO FUNNY......

Quand on pense que dans le même concert elle donne cette horreur de Pirata, et qu'au moment, elle donne cet air qui est son vrai répertoire avec un jeu trop appuyé à mon goût, mais avec esprit, et même la voix perd de ses défauts et nous rappelle qu'elle est spectaculaire! Une vraie leçon: la voix bien sûr, mais aussi l'univers familier. Callas aurait été incapable de faire cela., et c'est pourquoi elle ne l'a jamais tenté Je retrouve ici la Gruberova que j'aime, la seule, la vraie.

Utter brilliance! No one does this better! The manner, the voice and her comic sense is so right. How can I like her so much in this and so little in operas like Devereux? Brava!

It is amazing how can she sing one aria in the same manner - check out the performance of this aria from Amsterdam, it is an exact copy of what she is doing here. A little bit uncanny...

I have always loved her in these sobrette roles. She has the technique to play with the voice to make it seem like she is just having the most fun singing. Her Zerbinetta is equally as wonderful.
