With refined techniques, this video shows you how I process videos using my latest techniques and it's much easier and involves a lot less work, but I still get the exact same result. The lone exceptions are when time lapse is used or the original MPEG goes over 4 GB. For time lapse, I use my old method since Virtual Dub doesn't give a "blur" effect for frame rate reduction which makes it much more realistic and accurate. Time lapse is somewhat rarely used though, however. Bigger videos like the Sonic 2 full game series involves forming fragments since the MPEG recordings get split when above 4 GB (starting around the 2-hour mark) and these need to be stitched together but the process is still generally the same. I also narrate with a new twist - you can hear me typing as well as narrate. Because the video is about 11 minutes, I split it into 2 segments.
The second part of this video involves using Virtual Dub to finalize the videos.
Hello, my name is Linus, and I am from Sweden and I have been watching some of your videos and have been scanning through your splendid homepage a bit too, and i really like it all.
Watching theese two videos on how you process your videos, when you talked about archiveing and seeing all your folders and such made me wonder if you have backup on all your archive and other important files?... Because it woule be a great loss if something ever happend to your hard disc drive.
Thanks.

I use an external hard drive and copy only the archived versions over. I delete the ones meant for uploading at YouTube. Unfinished ones aren't. I need to reorganize the videos anyway. With a new TV tuner and slightly improved techniques, this video needs a redo anyway. The one for processing my music needs a big time redo (especially now as there are numerous changes and several improvements in the process).

That is comforting to hear, though I should have known you would have thought about that since you seem to actually think about alot of practical things that i don't think of.
I am really exited about your game and I grew up with sonic and sega and really like the old genesis games and I think your game is a great creation of the elements you like taken from all the games you have played and I really enjoy seeing the creation process even though i live on the other side of the ocean.
Thanks.

I've got backup CD's lying around since 2002 if that matters. GG13 wasn't even thought of then or that 3D RPG game I abandoned. Gamestudio was yet to be used to any extent. As to my 2D game, I've hit a major road block - the character. Without the character, there isn't much I can do outside scenery stuff and adding in some of the on-screen data. See my July 13 blog update for details and what the problem is (complete with screenshots).
