The lyrics to this song portray a man who is trying to recapture his first love. If only for the briefest of weekends away - his hope is to rekindle the feelings they both shared when they were much younger. The song title came from the imagination of our tune writer Ezy. There is a place called Cherry Grove in South Carolina (US) that inspired me to write the lyrics for this. It seemed a desolate beach where few people now tread and somehow lends itself to the song as if it were a secret place these once young lovers made their own.
