love the extended arpeggios and consistent alternate picking. tony macalpine is pretty sick. already one of my favorite guitarists, certainly up there with impellitteri, gilbert, malmsteen, and becker.

Is the best composer, and guitarrist. Es el mejor compositor y guitarrista.

Hell yeah Tony still rules , always liked this track, he really has awesome sound on his new album release 6/21/2011 & is playing an 8 string!

@rmsolympic1 I know it's an old comment, but that's EXACTLY what I thought. The intro is the best bit of this song, and he should have based the track on it, or at least reused it a few times. Seems a waste.

Utter nonsense. Macalpine was well known to the guitar community. Of course Vai knew his history.

@McMinnManiac If you check out the steve vai live at the astoria there's a nice Macalpine appearance which was his first tour with via, he was hired for keys but clearly his guitar ability has been noted and there are a few Macalpine guitar moments, its not like a G3 its most definably a Steve via gig but can you blame him for not giving too much time on macalpine? I mean Tony'd show him up at his own gig.

@mrvallely Really. i don't like Vai's playing too much. He can play like an MF and Produce . He's done quite alot for guitar Effects and the betterment of guitar over all, no Doubt. What year is this recording? it's a collaboration of Vai and Mac Alpine?
macalpine is underrated... he is a god of guitar, undisputable
