The Autobot Plot

Still getting up to speed with the newly installed CNC abilities on my Sherline 5400 CNC mini-mill. To test my ability to output vectors as g-code from some scripts I wrote in MEL (Maya's scripting language), I made an autobot logo. Instead of actually milling out plastic, or metal, I just jammed a Sharpie up into the spindle, and plotted the design on a piece of taped-down paper.

very good but thats not the whole symbol, the top middle shape whould have a hole in it.

Thats great that is bud... Im really new to cnc too got my sieg x2 up and running a few days ago under mach3 but ive things to learn yet, ive only done playing back of movements that ive made so far as im not sure how to set the mill up properly before trying to cut from my miles so that i dont break any endmills etc.. regards Richard

if you get mach3 software you can convert 2d or 3d vector art to Gcode toolpaths easilly.
