I think Fiat builds today the best cars in Europe, but I'm not sure if Fiat can really help Chrysler to be again one of the best car brand in US cause Americans drive with high consuption cars and Fiat is specializing in small cars.

@topdinero fiat has a LOT of partnerships. Not only chrysler and ferrari. maserati, alfa romeo, opel(GM), vauxhall(GM), and actually owned a lot of GM up until 2005. they have held ownership of aviation companies too(see fiatavio). the way i see it, as long as chrysler is partners with fiat they will never go under.
