Pride. The men secretly struggle with the fact that they were unable to protect thier family. i read an article where a lady told a similar story after her village was raided. She said she told the soldiers that she was not married and that she would be thier "wife" because if they knew she was married they would kill her husband. So, the army publicly raped her and 30 girls from her village. After they left, her husband said he did'nt want her anymore...
