Hyak, WA 2010.01.17- Up and over.

Walk up Hyak for the dogs and us to ski the back side of Hyak's Hidden Valley in the fog and on the 1 to 2 inches of wet snow that lays on a skiable frozen granular crust down to the old bull wheel then back up and down the Knob to Dinosaur. Good coverage all the way until the last 75 vertical feet where a little weaving through some young alder.

When I was 14, I lived on snoqualmie Pass At conifer lodge that is no longer there, but our lodge basement is still there and the basketball court and the old phone building. That is where I want to be now at 53 years old. I love snoqualmie pass. I worked at Hyak when I was 14 years old at the ticket booth. I miss the old rock chalet Store too. I had the best times of my life there. You are lucky if you live there now.
