http://www.janiking.co.uk - Paul Haworth Co-founder Jani-King UK on company culture, business opportunities and the partner recruitment process

Jani King has developed a very compelling proposition into customer's eyes and has a lot of high quality brand references to back that up. Examples would be in retail brands like H&M Henney's, in entertainment brands like Odeon cinemas and Ten Pin bowling alleys and in hospitalities where brands are like hotels like Travel Lodge Express by Holiday Inn. So these are really segments within the overall market where we see a lot of growth is organization, Jani-King can see that developing. Secondly, the proposition of the company is very competitive and very compelling in the eyes of the end user, our customer.

Competition
Interesting enough, we don't view franchise commercial cleaning companies as real competitors. The way Jani King sees the market large traditional cleaning companies, and then there are large facility management companies which are our real competitors. Examples would be ISS, OCS, Rentokilinital, Mitie so very large traditional organizations. Jani King has established a very winning and competitive proposition where they are tendering or pitching for business in direct competition with those sort of companies and in many cases winning that business, head to head.

Success
The first thing is overall culture. It's very much a culture of putting people at the heart of everything you organization does and genuinely from wanting to attract the very best type of individual partners as a franchise partner. Attracting a customer base where there is a common understanding what the business can and can't deliver that the customer truly values and where they want to build long term, strategic partnerships. The quality of some of the franchise partners in the business is truly exceptional. There are some true talented people out there, who go out and start to build a very substantial business a very substantial asset and that's reflected quality of a customer base and their appreciation of and excellent service that they are receiving.

The perfect fit
The most fundamental is that there is a generally a good fit. The individual partner applicant feels that they go through the whole application process, which involves a number of stages which we will go through in a second, but at the end of that process it generally feels like a very good fit in terms of what they are looking for to get out a business and how Jani King view their attitude and the skill set of that individual. Key milestones are a sponsorship program from existing franchise owners to share with them how the business truly operates. Meet all the key individual within Jani King that will have a significant influence on how their business will develop. A due diligent process involving a number of third party constituents that add some value.
