Nitsa Dancus sings a religious folk song from Ieud, Maramures, Romania. Nitsa is a treasure chest of folklore from the arch conservative village of Ieud and a strong supporter of old Greco-Catholic church traditions. This particlular religious song has a strong resemblence to many older Yiddish ballad folk song traditins, a legacy of cross cultural shared musical tradition in the Carpathian Basin.
