U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Davis Love III and European Ryder Cup Captain José María Olazábal teed-off for a once-in-a lifetime golf shot from Trump International Hotel & Tower® Chicago's 16th Floor Terrace on September 26, 2011, in celebration of reaching the year-out mark of the 2012 Ryder Cup. Each captain attempted three 220-yard shots targeting a golf green modeled after the 17th hole at Medinah and custom-built on a barge floating on the Chicago River - and each captain hit the green once! The stunt raised money for charity, with The PGA of America in conjunction with the Ryder Cup Magnificent Moments fundraising campaign donating $100,000 to benefit the Illinois PGA Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana. The 2012 Ryder Cup will be played Sept. 25-30, 2012, at historic Medinah (Ill.) Country Club near Chicago.
