Vegans are often told the diet doesn't work because of a lack of nutrients. Well, then why are ALL of the meat/dead carcass promoting sites selling a boatload of supplements? And on the other hand, the low fat vegan sites selling NONE?
Looks like a lot of people are getting scammed.
Nutrition is simple when you eat a diet that humans are designed for. But, if you try to live off rotting flesh and curdled cow titty milk, you are going to need a heck of a lot more help than just supplements.

Ah, nothing like a fresh, ripe, organic hypodermic needle of B12 jabbed painfully into the leg to get the week started. Pernicious anemia? Oh yeah, you can die from that if you are a raw vegan who doesn't SUPPLEMENT!
The correct argument should be "If I become a raw vegan, will I need to supplement?"
The correct answer is "Yes, you will need to supplement B12."

@benos4752 Haven't read Robb Wolfe's book yet, but Sisson barely mentions supplementation in 'The Primal Blueprint' OR on Marks Daily Apple.

@SecretsOfLongevity Cherry-picking your sources to prove a biased point is trending right now in the fruitarian community!

Why didn't you show Brandon Brazier's site? Oh yeah, because he's a LFRV that has a whole line of supplements and would that would have trumped your point.
Why didn't you show Professor Loren Cordain's site? Oh yeah, because he's a Paleo Diet advocate who DOESN'T sell supplements of any kind on his site and this would have trumped your point.

So what if they sell supplements? If you've ever read any of their information, you would know that they don't push any of it (at least Mark and Robb don't), it's their as an extra, as a SUPPLEMENT. And how is "pushing" books better than "pushing" supplements?
All I know is that by following the recommendations of Mark and Robb, and taking no supps besides store bought protein powder and fish oil, I have lost almost 100 pounds in less than a year. Keep your veganism, I'll keep my health.

This dude serious? Knocking on people for selling supplements? That have been shown in thousands of studies to be beneficial in preventing, reversing or even staving off disease... This is the trouble with the internet. Years ago people like this channel wouldn't have been known, and for good reason.

Wow! Some websites are selling supplements. That obviously means you need them. I can't believe people are actually trying to make money!

this is what i think though, nobody is getting scammed in the general sense here..
SURE there are plenty of snake-oil salesmen IN the supplement world! But, the consumer should be well informed on their own discipline to understand what it is they are seeking, in acquiring diet supplementation...
Obviously you want to get most nutrients from actual real food that is presumably fresh, live, or at least minimally handled/process. But tailored to YOUR diet, a few KEY 'supplements' is all you want!
