Dark Age of Camelot Trailer (HD)

So this is a trailer I created back in September 2007 for a contest the Camelot Vault was hosting. They still to this date never posted the results, and I have already uploaded this once before.

This is just a reupload for those of you that want a better quality video. I do not have the original project files anymore, but I did have a high quality output file. Wish I could actually recreate the video from the source files and fix some stuff, but I guess I will have to do with what I can.

They have clustered servers - you can log in and play with 3,500 people *(and growing) during prime time. There are again clustering everything into one MEGA server called Ywain - so you will get all the glory days of DAoC back in a nutshell. Worried about a second account and buff bots to pump your toon? They are creating yellow potion buffs...

Unfortunately, for me, the glory days of DAoC were a about 6 months after classic servers started, right up until about 2 years ago. Or also the Pre-TOA days when the game was a lot more slower and more tactical. I don't see either of those days coming back unfortunately, while the new server cluster might be cool, it isn't going to bring back the awesomeness of classic or pre-TOA servers.

By far the best game I have ever played. Everytime I've played some other MMO (as in WoW, LineAge, LOTRO, WAR) I always end up comparing them to DAoC - DAoC set the bar, if only it had gotten more credit. It's not too late to try it out. They've just released a super cluster of servers and revamped loads of stuff, so it's way more "newbie" friendly these days. Give it a go guys, it's so worth it!

I resub'ed. AMAZING! It seems like the old days! Main cities are no longer ghost towns and we see players everywhere. I noticed NEW players (not veteran rolls), who never played the game before....simply amazing. DAoC never dies and all I can say is resub now!

@Bhomein maybe because in wow there are a lot of kids, it's more "commercial" like pets/mount bought at store etc.

Daoc was fun because there was no bbk, and the atmosphere was particular. Obviously, MMORPGs were later improved and adapted especially to casual players, daoc instead was a game very group linked to interactions between the realms, and not to the individual or as the arenas in wow.

In addition, each class was important for his purpose, but now wow all classes are equal (and boring)

@Bhomein rlly wow have 12million and daoc now only 3k? maybe because daoc is a old mmorpg now, 10 years old... but still the best PvP/RvR ever seen.

Oh...not potions by the way - buffs are insta cast on your toon. Pay a small amount of gold and pick the buff combo you want (all buffs, just specs, etc).

@franticricky1 There are npcs in frontiers and one in Labyrinth, Darkness Falls, etc., where you can get fully buffed. Not quite the same as a +25% to buffs bot - but very nice to have - when running with a group that is, since team work and realm abilities win the day with team vs team. The potions are NOT timed. You lose them when you leave a pvp zone or when you die.
