Video showing debris from natural soft slab avalanche on the west side of Mushroom Ridge. The slide likely occurred Jan. 21st, 2012, near the end of a prolonged series of storms. It released at about 8700 feet altitude and ran over 700 vertical feet to Horse Creek, covering a 500 foot (horizontal) section of the creek and valley with snow and broken trees. The deepest pile of debris was 15-20 feet.The crown was 2-3 feet deep and the bed surface was on or just above a stout crust. The avalanche classification is SS-N-D3-R3-I.
