U.S. Airways is a joke. My father is a mechanic supervisor for them but was a mechanic for America West... he said that US Airs union is a bunch of bullshit, and being a 10 year employee for AW, he said Parker made the biggest mistake of his life. Now... what I would have done, was keep the name and the painjob because obviously AW's paint was 10x better than US Airs bs paintjob. When I met parker in the AW building, he was the coolest guy i've met(At the time)And if I saw him today, no respect.

I remember flying America West Airlines from Columbus to Phoenix back in March, 1996. The flight was smooth, the personnel was nice and the accomodations in Phoenix were top notch. I then went to Las Vegas for three days. Had some fun there. Won some money and returned to Columbus. It was all great. All on the same airline, America West. I was sorry to see them go. It was more than their logo that was nicer than USAirways. Everything about America West was much nicer than USairways is.

A Word of Thought....USAIRWAYS....A $500 Million Profit for the Year 2010....You should be thankful for the combination of the AW/US....You will be one the Airlines that Survive in the End....Without each other....Both of you would have been gone today....Read the Financials of the Two.......Happy Flying

I am an employee of 21 years and a Captain with many, many friends that work or have worked for AWA (HP) throughout it's history...and I have shared this video with them. The TEAMWORK themed B-757 said it ALL!!! ALL of the employees during that era worked thru adversity, long hours, bad pay but we all had PRIDE in being the ONLY "deregulation era" airline to survive...and we did it as a TEAM "Together Everyone Achieves More" attitude! Only to be degraded eventually by Parker's ego and showing that he didn't know the airline history and employee character of the OLD USAir that took that old company down! Now us AWA employees are paying the price! So SAD...

I was flying on 9/11-thankfully it was with AWA.The pilot's announcements about the grounding were honest but reassuring.The cabin crew kept an admirable calm and civility.Especiallly;the woman F/A who said her brother worked in the WTC.You know who you are.After the FAA gave the go ahead,they were the first to fly from Houston.They even managed a bit of catering and amazingly found me earlier connections.In the ensuing chaos,just one bag was lost.It was hand delivered to my door the next day,
