  • @3thebrudas, NYC (from whence this comes), LA, Philly, Pitssburgh and Chicago were particular hotbeds of street-corner harmony, a/k/a doo-wop.Kids of all colors would indeed gather and sing it on the corners or anywhere. Most cities had local hits as well as national breakouts. This was an NY classic - still is - and has that pounding stripped-down New York sound in all its glory. Thanks for posting!

  • @countrypaul i thought doo wop was a style from the west coast in LA? or was that just the 'oldies' culture im thinking about where youngsters would chill to 'oldies'?
