PixelBand is an experimental tool for generating music from the pixel informations contained in pictures.
The shown colour-tone-mapping is created by a division of the hue-value of each vertical line of pixels through the 12 semitones of the octave. The so generated tone is transposed upwards to a maximum of 4 octaves by the brightness-value of the line.

Keep in mind no notes have been added, changed or removed manually, every note is generated from the information contained in the picture.

PixelBand is a diploma project by Benni Weller. copyright 2006*
