Quite a few people have asked me what the true harmonies are for this song. Well here is the top (Paul) and lower (George) parts in isolation. I have not seen a single version yet on youtube with the correct Beatles harmonies other than my previously uploaded version - but maybe that will change now!
Why dont you try singing the tune along to this and see how great the 3 parts are together. Id love to have seen how the Beatles put these harmonies together - all the outtakes that I have heard of this song are instrumental/guide vocal.

  • Cool.

This is the same way I worked it out for three people to sing it live, which allows the lead part to be like John's on the record.

I always figured that for the the studio recording the parts probably didn't jump around as much, as John's lead part was of course overdubbed.

  • @TimCarrie

Thanks - I'm not sure I follow though. Do you mean you think John added a few different notes on the overdub? I do believe my version is as per the studio version, as that is where i worked it out from.

  • Great. Any possibility that one day you might post a version of the whole of this song with the harmonies and the melody missing? Great fun to sing along to! Appreciate your putting this up. Thanks.

  • Glad you liked singing along - I might do a full version one day but am hoping to work on some other songs first! Thanks for listening.

  • Fun!!

  • @jimidee33 agreed

  • To my ear this does not sound like Paul and George.

  • You guy's have to be kidding?

  • Sorry but these are NOT them... the right harms, that is....just sayin.

  • harmonies - I think Paul sang a third above John, while George sang a third below, and sometimes in unison?

  • good but not quite right, particularly at the end... miss the major note there..

  • @losackmd you are so correct,,,,,,,,i can sing this better on my machine vito in dago

  • it's funny how people don't give George credit for being a good singer - but his harmonies in songs like this are much harder to do than Paul's (yes, Paul is singing higher, but that wasn't hard for him at that point. The high harmonies are easy to pick out, but George has the tricky spot of being buried in there)
