This is a video of the meat rabbits I have. I crossed a NZW doe and a Californian buck and the doe just had a litter of 5 kits. You can also see the other Californian doe I have and the Californian buck. In total I have 2 does and 1 buck for my small backyard set-up and now 5 kits. Also in the video you can see my chickens which are 3 Orpington buffs and 4 Marans. They are laying on average about 6 eggs a day. Hope you enjoy!

  • How many rabbits and chickens do you need to feed a family of 4?

  • @clarkewi A four- to five doe operation should yield about two rabbits per week for family consumption year round. Chickens, I have 8 chickens and I get about 35 eggs a week when all of them are laying. When one of two become broody, i get about 24 eggs a week. PM me and I can send you a PDF file about raising rabbits in Texas, which might be similar in climate where you are. Thanks for your interest.

  • Nice set up dude.

  • @gacastillo21 Thanks brah. This is totally cool. Would you say that you are saving money by doing this? I am in New Zealand and am keen to set up an operation like yours. It's not as hot as Texas, but it does not get that cold either.

  • Did enjoy watched it twice...:)

  • Looks good. Just got a Buff and a Brahma chick today. Couldnt tell the kiddo she couldnt have one. : )
