Some years ago, I tried to learn backgammon on an all-day-basis, which was not possible for me, even with literature and bots. I think, if you want to become a really great player, you need a good teacher. Unfortunately, I had no teacher this time. It is a fascinating, complex game and as a decent chess player I can tell you that it is sometimes harder to get than chess. I love this game so much, but it is frustrating that I'm not as good as I want to be. Maybe I should look out for some

@jackhat0 Check the link above for an executive summary. The main point I wanted to make is how a major theme in Lost is choices, and in backgammon you can see how your game is a result of the choices you make in a vast, tho not infinite, decision tree. You can look back on a BG game and see how your game is the result of your choices. Likewise, in the game of life, you can look back on your decisions and see how you are the person your are. It's a Room 23 kind of thing.
