a question for the maker of this vid: how much of the 94' horror can still be seen now? are the scars still visible?

There are definitely some repercussions (not to mention the horrifying physical scars); about 2/3rds of the population was displaced and essentially the majority of a generation was lost, so there are so many parent-less orphans, but churches and the government have worked hard to put them in homes than keep them on the streets or in orphanages. There are also those upset with the current government as well as local community trials to settle long-standing crimes.

But more incredible are where it has traversed from that time. The government has implemented a spiritual reconciliation program to encourage forgiveness and restoration. I spoke with adults who had taken in the same people that were responsible for the death of their family members. No one ever speaks of what tribe they belonged to because they all consider each other fellow Rwandans. Obviously, this is not the standard in every case, but forgiveness and peace are being encouraged as a response

Beautiful. These people have beauty in their faces. It's in their eyes and their smiles--the beauty of humility and graciousness. I'm in awe.

i am not trying to be mean to americans i mean lots of them are nice but those that are spoiled they deserve to live in a country like so and Rwandans deserve to live in america imagine that if all the people were like the people in Rwanda

I met a few survivors of the genocide yesterday and they are the most friendly people I have ever met!!! They are so innocent-looking. I watched a movie in class today and it was the Lost Boys of Sudan and picking out a handful of them coming to America! They didn't even know how do use butter or ever cross the street!
