...this could not have come at a worst time for Normita who suffered the onset of symptoms when she went to visit her family in the Philippines. What was to be a time of rejoicing and celebration has become a nightmare for her family, who has been forced to pay all of her medical costs out of pocket.

I just wanted to say, recovery is very long, I was with GBS all over even my throat and senses I spent three month in hospital a month in ICU..I went to therapy everyday that I was in Hospital after going home I was bed ridden butI went once a week to rehab, Its been two years and I am walking not as before but I know I will be as I was soon...The Dr. 's are amaze on how my drive was to walk early, they say three years I will get everything back but its only two years for me now.. Keep the faith

do what I can to get around. I recieved the immunigloblin at Presbyterian hospital and did rehab for months. Now over 12 months later without a full recovery I'm wondering if rehab is really going to help. I work and walk through the city up and down subway steps and wait patiently complaining the whole way for a full recovery.
I dream of running, surfing, and snowboarding : )

I had GBS 14 months ago. I am recovering but not the way I would like to.
I have Hodgkins Lymphoma for 10 years and feel it was the cause of GBS. I try to live normally and sometimes don't tell anyone I have this problem. My walking sucks and its hard to go out with friends because I'm sooo slow. I live in NYC and the subway up and down seems impossible.

I had GBS when i was 17 the doctors couldnt find what was wrong with me and they said that i mite get stuck like that forever i was in the ER ICU for 3 weeks and force my self to push to get better. when i was able to somewhat move my legs and walked and walked i fail like 5 time a minute. but i wasnt going out with out a bang.
the syndrome is no fun. i think about it some times and i get really panic attacks.
this is a vary rare disease and for some reason i got stuck with it hah
SICK!!
May God bless each and every one of you with this disease. I pray you all make a recovery. I admire your tenacity. God is so good.

To all survivors of GBS..thumbs up! My boyfriend is a survivor too, he had it 10 years ago, I met him last January 2011; despite the effect of GBS to him, he remained positive in his outlook in life, he can walk alone now but with some difficulties, cannot run anymore, whenever we are together walking in the public, people look at him on way he walks, but he never care about it, neither do I. I love him so much, I am his balance and will care for him forever. My prayers to those who have it now
