The boss fight starts the instant you enter the machinery Bay, so be ready at the save point in the previous room. Also, return to the launch deck right above the Machinery Bay Access Room entrance to get A Xehanort Report. These are very important and needed to open up Final Episode and the end of the game.

The boss isn't difficult, but there is a new gimmick for this fight. Now you have to watch for your health meter and the ship's damage meter. Throughout the fight, the Unverse will go to the energy core of the ship and attack it. If the damage meter fills up, the ship explodes and its automatic game over. So its a race to finish it off quickly. While its damaging the ship, its not attacking or defending, so use this opportunity to get in combos on it.

It likes to move around alot, so use Thunder and Fire commands, as well as Mine Shield. he has no strengths/weaknesses to elemental damage, but he is weak to the Poison and Ignite statuses. If you have Superglide, you can easily dodge his attacks. As the fight goes on, the unverse will sometimes go to the second level of the area to attack the core. Either climb up to it using the platforms around the room, or go to the gravity control to increase your jumping height. Its difficult to fight him there as the platforms are very narrow.

Winning the fight gets you an HP increase, another Deck slot, a D-Link with 626, the Deep Space command board and the Hyperdrive keyblade. Also unusually, Ven completes the story in a world instead of Aqua. There are some chests in the Machinery Bay only accessible once you beat the boss.
