This guy is the one of the most disgusting douche bags I've ever seen and I'm just baffled by how anyone can take him seriously.

@CharlesAndHyde Simple...Money and Power.

I guess wayyyyy back then they started to impose rules and some people were like "HEY! This isn't very Christian!" And bounced. That is my clift notes version. But read up on it. There were A LOT of different reasons.

Random person: what does it mean to be baptist?
Driscoll: We dunk adults. (End.)
LMBO!
THIS reminds me of when i asked what made baptist different from others. lolz

@pegcage What do you mean by 'No creed but Christ' - it sounds like an interesting piece of rhetoric, but it needs to be explained. For instance, are you perhaps saying that the Nicene Creed is unnecessary?

I really wish certain lutheran churches(ELCA) would change there names so we(LCMS) don't always get lumped in with the crazies. Whether he's right or not about the trends I don't know. It would make sense that some of the more liberal churches are seeking this as there leaders fall further from a strong hold on biblical doctrine. I still wouldn't throw the baby out with the bath water though, some denominational churches are growing for the same reasons.

Right on! Right on my brotha!

Seems a bit derisive that the only thing one thinks of Baptists is they dunk adults. T^hat is nopt taught in any Baptist chnurch I was ever a member of. It is called Believers Baptism which is-identifying one self as a Christian in the death burial and ressurection of Christ. It is a testimony of salvation. The pathetic thing is Christ commanded it to happen and in reality shows one thing-he does not really care about biblical distinctives when commanded by Christ!
@claudius860 The catholic church today is entirely man made. Nowhere in the bible will you find any mention of the Pope, of nuns, of purgatory, of praying to saints, of infant baptism, of catechisms. The catholic church originally was simply known as the church. It originally was correct. Then people added their opinions, their thoughts, their rules, and basically, the catholic church has become modern-day pharisees. It's harsh to say, but it's very true.

@maddingo12
I wonder how the Roman Catholic Church and the Protestants become different in theology in the first place then?
