RMS Olympic was one of the most beautiful ocean liners that ever sailed the seas. She was built in 1908, launched on 20 October 1910 and brought thousands of soldiers into safety in the First World War. She is the only remaining vessel that sank a U-boat 103 from Germany during the war.

Her come back after the war, earned her the nickname "The Old Reliable" by many people. The 1920's was the biggest adventure time for Olympic, during the great depression of 1929 it was clear that Olympic didn't had a much longer career... in 1935 she was sold for scrap.

There was much critic about scrapping the Mauretania and Olympic. Even president Roosevelt in 1935 wrote a message to Cunard White Star Line to save the Mauretania and Olympic. In 1937, her empty hull was demolished in Scotland. Olympic sailed since then off into History.

  • why would they keep the ugly queen mary which was just a ship when the olympic made such a mark in history and sister to titanic they should have scrapped the queen mary and made the olympic a hotel now that would be something to see!

  • Beautiful video. I wish Olympic was still around.

  • earth in those days there was no originality all large ships were equal the titanic olimpic Britanic lusitanic bone gingantic wtf

  • @0VAMK0

Shut the FUCK up! Do you have any idea how painful it is for me to see that? Huh?! I am suffering because I had ties with all these ships. I HATE scrap merchants, God damn it. I find sinking and/or preservation more honerable. GO TO HELL!!!!

  • Scrapping a ship is honorable, the Olympic... was not only reliable but provided thousands of jobs during her dismantling. Same with many ships in 1935 during the collapse of Ocean liners golden age.

  • If only people knew that time..... Imagine if it still existed and some day it was desided to scrap her! Millions would have protested!!!

    Somehow, her sisters were luckier....

  • SCRAP. hey you never know. She should be built into my prius and BMW

  • No scrap they should make her still sail her today as memory of brittanic and titanic its such so cruel to make it to scrap

  • Beautiful ship, good music choice.

  • i know its only a ship, but it makes me sad ... such a great ship and such an sad end
