Vote Follows Reports of Mexican Truck Explosion That Killed 34 People, Injured 150 Teamsters General President Jim Hoffa urged the Senate to block funding for the Bush administration's illegal Mexican truck program. "Today is the sixth anniversary of the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil," Hoffa said. "I don't see how any patriotic American could vote to allow these dangerous trucks to cross our borders and travel freely throughout our country." "We don't know who's driving these trucks and we don't know what they're carrying," Hoffa said. "Weapons that could be used in a terrorist attack might be in the backs of these trucks.

all truckers park for a year and see how the world bow down to our feet.Gas,food,clothes and building supplies let the cars haul it.I bet fuel will be free and truckers will be glorified.People will be willing to give anything to get trucks back on the road ugly or not

Mexican and Canadian trucks roll across the same scales, are inspected by the same DOT bears as American trucks. WTF is the argument here?? Frankly, I'm glad to see this old rigs rolling and hauling instead of dying in some auto graveyard rusting away.

OOIDA is so fucked up in their hatred towards Mexican carriers, that they see passed the thousands of violations American truckers get everyday. Don't tell me Mexican trucks are dangerous until you can pass a CSA inspection yourself.
