Promise was written on Christmas day, 2008. It was a gift to a loved one of the composer. The composer wanted to do something really nice for his loved one since she couldn't play the DVD he had bought her on her DVD player. This piece is based on the composer's successfull relationship at one point in time. The first section of the piece sets the second section up with a powerful, yet delicate theme to work with. This piece starts with a beautiful melody in the right hand supported by a melodious harmonic progression in the left hand. The second section of the piece starts with a sequence of syncopated octaves and ends joyfully on the tonic of the piece. The original version of this piece can be found at the composer's youtube channel at the following link, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6VdPIGRC9Q

  • Thanks Matthew, i am glad you loved it. The second section of the piece was a little of a challenge because of the rhythmic syncopations and how the octaves in both hands were jumping all over the place, overall it was easy and within my technical reach.

  • This is very good, Harold! I love it!!!!! *****

It's much harder to play than it appears.
