Dec. 8, 2009: A Tillamook dog breeder today surrendered 118 dogs to the Oregon Humane Society, following a lengthy investigation by OHS and the Tillamook County Sheriff.

98 dogs, almost all of them rat terriers, are arriving this afternoon and this evening at the OHS Shelter at 1067 NE Columbia Blvd. in Portland. The dogs will be available for adoption after they are spayed/neutered and get a clean bill of health from the OHS medical team.

  • One of the best decisions we ever made was bringing home one of these dogs. A year later, little Harold is SO happy and the light of my life.

  • Our family adopted one of the babies of a pregnant rat terrier that was rescued this day. We love her so much! Thank you OHS!!!

  • I have a rat terrier. His name is Rico and I love him to death!

  • I adopted mine last Wednesday! Thank you OHS!!

  • Breaks your heart to see those skinny dogs. :-(

How can people be so cruel ??

I hope they all get a good home.

  • This breaks your heart! But so glad they are now in the best of hands... Through it all every dog seen on the video had a wagging tail! No words can explain "dogs!"

  • Wow i hope people adopt these great dogs, we are taking food and other things to the shelter tomorrow, if you live in Portland or surrounding area please help out these dogs!!

  • Rat Terriers are the best! If you are thinking about adopting one of the guys, I'd recommend it whole heartedly! Our little girl has been such a joy! If we didn't have a total of 3 dogs we'd for sure be seeking out one of these. So food donation it will have to be. So very sad, but these pups are in great hands now!

  • poor guys.. thats terrible (1:15). We have a female rat terrior. They looks very slim and skinny but that is terrible! We are thinking about adopting one for penny to have a friend.
